I was invited by a friend to a Jewelry Party this past weekend. I have been to Tupper Ware Parties, Linen Parties, Cosmetic Parties and Recipe Parties, but never to a Jewelry Party.
When we arrived, my friend had a lavish spread for us before we got down to business. We started off with some of her famous vegetable soup which was welcome on a cold January day. We were then treated to a variety of foods such as cheese and crackers, fruit with dip, corn muffins, coffee cake, and miniature hot dogs wrapped in a roll.
It was a wonderful afternoon for me primarily because a school friend I had not seen in fifty years was one of the guests. We had a great time catching up and reminiscing about our grammar school days with the nuns and our friends from that time. I was able to give her a ride home which was also nice. She is a retired teacher as I am, so we had much to talk about.
The jewelry we were shown is from a house called Lia Sophia. It is beautiful jewelry which looks more expensive than it really is. We were shown necklaces, earrings, rings, brooches, bracelets, pendants with matching earrings, lockets, and so much more in various materials such as gold, silver, platinum, crystal, jade, pearl, mother-of-pearl, glass, resin, tiger’s eye and abalone. Some pieces carried religious symbols. I purchased earrings for my two daughters and was very pleased with my choices.
In doing my research for this article, I discovered that a Fellow Contributor, DeeDee, had hosted a Lia Sophia Party. You will find much more information in her article from the perspective of the hostess of a Lia Sophia Party who is given pieces of jewelry of her choice when she hosts a party, plus she can receive discounts up to 40%. Maybe you will be encouraged to host a Jewelry Party. It will bring so much pleasure to your guests as well as yourself if you do.
